One, two, three.... "Land of hope and glory...." Yes they should have been singing the British National Anthem at the Emmy's this week because even though it's an American Academy Award it seems the British have been causing so Academy stir! Most notably made by our darling Dame Helen Mirren in her lucky stripper heels and her slightly insulting thank you speech. Thank goodness that the American's are so well bred and understanding of the British! Let's just echo the words GENEROSITY.... hehe, I should think they are generous after letting Dame Helen keep her Emmy after her little speech Sticking out tongue

Not only did Dame Mirren win Best Actress but other favoured Brit Celebs were making their mark as well Ricky Gervais, who was unable to collect his award, although his american counterpart, Steve Carell, in the Yank version of The Office kindly accepted it on Ricky's behalf, ain't that sweet!

Ashley Jensen, Gervais co-star in Extra's turned up looking smoking in a hot pink dress, maybe it's the Ugly Betty/ LA affect? But let's not forget the wonderful Hugh Laurie, who was nominated for "House", in which he plays the crankiest Doctor since Ted Danson in the American sitcom "Becker". Long Live The Brits!
